A Lady Bird Deed is a specialized Michigan real estate document. It allows you to pass your home directly to a named beneficiary upon your death, completely avoiding the lengthy and costly probate court process. You'll walk out with the documents you need to avoid the probate process and allow your loved ones to care for you following your directives.

Family & Elder Law's Lady Bird Deed Day is an opportunity to cover your estate planning basics in a quick and cost effective way. We prepare a Lady Bird Deed and your Base Ancillary Documents for you in under 90 minutes. 

Base Ancillary Documents include:

  • Durable Power of Attorney for legal and financial matters

  • Patient Advocate Designation & HIPPA for medical matters

  • Funeral Representative Designation for arrangements for body after death

Bring Your Deed

Bring your completed Homework and Roster (given to you when you sign up - or click here to download)

Bring the final portion of your payment

You can expect the entire process to take under 90 minutes. 

Step 1 

15-20 minute meeting* with an attorney to confirm information adn verify this is the appropriate estate planning process for you.

Step 2

Watch a video explaining each document in more depth, and enjoy light refreshments while our drafters prepare your documents. 

Step 3

15-20 minute meeting with a notary and witnesses (provided by us). You can ask simple questions, we'll review your documents for accuracy, and sign and notarize them.
